Thesis: Collision Avoidance Function
The collision avoidance group of Volvo in Gothenburg, Sweden, is looking for four Master students for two thesis projects (two for each project). The projects are the following.
Collision avoidance function tuning optimization
To create effective and customer-oriented collision avoidance functions, they must be tuned to avoid unwarranted interventions (false positives) while ensuring real-world performance (true positives). The scope of this thesis work is to investigate and develop a multi-objective function tuning optimization strategy, to be applied to Volvo’s Lane Keeping Aid functionality.
Collision avoidance function concept
Based on a given car setup and two given set of log files. The first narrower set of log files will be consistent or scenarios where an intervention is needed to avoid an impact, while the second larger set will be consistent or log files where there must not be any intervention.
